Back it up like Vinyl.

Peace, be with the driver who actually knew the lay of the land.

Kindness, bless the driver who couldn’t charge me an eight dollar cancellation fee.

Joy, don’t you rejoice for the driver with the guaranteed boot space of a Toyota Prius?

Oh how I miss the days of your dominance, dearest driver of the Taxi. You’re quite the endangered species as of late.

It’s no secret that Uber is to blame; a service which markets and operates the mobile transport application. Uber allows anyone to drive for their company using their own car, subject to a background check and car requirements.

However, it’s been devastating to hear that Brisbane Police have recently appealed for women who may have been sexually assaulted while using Uber to come forward as they investigate a driver accused of raping a young passenger three times.

Being a young woman myself, this petrifies me. I wish background checks were more thorough and grander measures were taken to ensure her safety. I wish she lived in a world where her safety was for certain.
