About Tyla Leo

Experience

Tyla Leo joined O'Shea Dyer in 2018 while studying at James Cook University. Tyla completed a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Laws (with Distinction) in 2019 and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at The College of Law in July 2020.  She was Admitted as a Solicitor in September 2020. Tyla has grown up in Townsville and is very involved in the North Queensland community.  She was school captain at St Margaret Mary's College in 2014, teaches dance part-time and competes in various sporting competitions. 

Tyla has worked almost exclusively in personal injury litigation acting for plaintiffs. She has considerable experience advising and representing people for motor vehicle accident claims, work-cover claims, public liability, medical negligence and asbestos claims. She also advises and represents people with total and superannuation permanent disability (TPD) insurance claims.

Leadership

Tyla is a natural leader. She is a 'get things done' type of person. She takes responsibility and is known to be a 'pushy little thing' at times. Just what you want in your litigation lawyer! Tyla is a Senior Associate of the firm, is a highly valued member of the OSheaDyer team and clients love her.  She has acquired substantial knowledge in litigation (injury) law since she started in this area back in 2018. She works closely with Ivan Baxter for our compensation claims clients and knows the laws and processes that apply to all types of Injury and Compensation Claims.  Tyla is exceptionally professional, personable and competent.  

Vision

Tyla is committed to providing quality affordable legal services and delivering excellent outcomes for her clients. She works closely with our Director Ivan Baxter leading our Litigation team with Injury and Compensation Claims. She is genuinely excited when great outcomes are achieved for clients seeking compensation. She is instrumental in developing ways to streamline and expedite claims.

Tyla is highly regarded by everyone at OSheaDyer - team members and clients alike. She is clever, highly competent, kind and has exceptional interpersonal skills. She is humbly confident and always seeks to assist clients in the best way possible.

Tyla enjoys competition and we think it is best to 'be on her team'! She plays a lot of sport, teaches dance in her spare time and has a beagle named Barney.  If you are at the Touch Footy fields at Queens Park - don't expect to see her. She is too fast.
