Cost of Wills and other Estate Planning Documents

Cost of Wills and other Estate Planning Documents

Estate planning documents (including Wills, powers of attorney, powers of guardianship, insurance and superannuation nominations and Testamentary Trusts) are the tools that are used to implement the strategies that are developed as part of the estate planning process. It is important to have a lawyer who is experienced to advise you on what is best for your situation.  Our fees are very reasonable and we are happy to give you an indication of price over the phone.

Take advantage of our current offer - When we prepare your Will, we prepare your Enduring Power of Attorney for FREE

Wills

A single straightforward Will costs $440 (inc gst). If a married or defacto couple are doing wills together, the cost of 2 Wills, starts at $660 (inc gst). If there are particular provisions then the Will may cost a little extra. We can give you a better idea of costs when you come in to discuss your Will with one of our lawyers. They will give you a price at the first appointment and you can decide whether to go ahead or wait.

If you have a Will with a Testamentary Trust included in it, the cost may be between $1500 and $2500 (plus gst) depending on the complexity of the Trust. The lawyer will discus the cost with you at your first appointment and you can decide whether to go ahead or not.

Enduring Power of Attorney  EPA

A straightforward Enduring Power of Attorney document - commonly referred to as an EPA, costs $220 (inc gst). If a married or defacto couple have EPA's prepared that mirror one another, the cost is $385 (inc gst) for both.

Free Review Service to Existing Clients.

We offer all of our ‘Wills and EPA’ clients a free review service every 3-5 years as we think it’s important to check that your Will and Enduring Power of Attorney always reflects your wishes.  If you have had a major life event since you did your last will (like marriage, divorce, children, deaths, etc) you should definitely review your will.

You may feel sure there is no need for review and that’s great. We always encourage people who are uncertain, to make an appointment to discuss it. If you decide that changes are not necessary, there is no charge for this appointment. If, however, your Will and/or Power of Attorney documents do need updating, we are available to do this for a reduced fee that is 25% off our usual price.

We also provide a free safe custody service where your original documents like your Will and EPA are kept in a fire-proof safe at our office.

Superannuation - Binding Death Benefit Nomination

We can obtain the relevant forms from your Super fund, advise you, fill in the form and lodge it with your Super fund. Our Fee to do this starts at $150 + gst.

Our fee to advise you and prepare and Advance health Directive starts at $250 + gst.
