About Cathy Fon


Cathy Fon is an experienced Wills and Estates Lawyer.   She completed a Bachelor of Laws with Honours at James Cook University in 2003.  Cathy then spent a year as Associate to His Honour Justice Cullinane. Cathy later completed her Articles and has been working as a lawyer on a part-time basis for many years since.  While Cathy now practices exclusively in Wills and Estates Law, she has broad experience and has practiced in commercial and family law. 


Cathy worked for over a decade in Business Management at the ATO and for Qld Health before completing her law degree in 2003. Cathy leads the Wills and Estates team at O'SheaDyer Solicitors and is adored by her team members.  


Cathy is committed to providing quality, affordable legal services for people in Townsville. She is a lawyer who 'gets things done' efficiently, without fuss and without extra expense for her clients. She is compassionate and aware of all issues that arise when drafting Wills and Administering Estates.


Cathy is the lawyer you imagine going to see to obtain advice about your Will and getting your affairs in order. She is also the lawyer you want to see when someone close has passed and you need help to Administer their Estate. Cathy is professional, compassionate, clever and insightful. Cathy has lived all of her life in Townsville. She grew up in Rowes Bay and went to St Margaret Mary’s High School. She worked many years in management roles before studying law at JCU. Cathy is a prolific reader, a wonderful cook and loves to travel. While Covid has slowed her down, she is ready for more travel as soon as it is allowed.  Cathy is married to Peter. They have two very busy high-school aged kids, Luka and Helena, who love sport, music, chess and all things Harry Potter.

  • Bachelor of Laws 1st Class Honors – James Cook University – 2003       
  • Admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland  - 2005
  • Admitted as a Solicitor of the High Court of Australia - 2005
  • Member of Queensland Law Society and the Townsville District Law Association
