The Company 

OSheaDyer Solicitors Townsville, established in 1983, provides legal representation for:

  • Personal Injury - Compensation Claims Litigation
  • Family Law, and
  • Wills/Estates.

We comprise 8 lawyers in total and are a team of 18 people.

Our PI team comprises 3 lawyers and 2 paralegals. Everyone  in our team is experienced in this area of law, which means this position is a great opportunity for an early career lawyer, eager for career advancement, to learn rapidly and progress.

The Opportunity

We represent plaintiffs for injury claims and sue insurance companies. We have a diverse body of work - running claims for motor vehicle accidents, work accidents and public liability claims. We appear in court regularly. We attend conferences with clients in Brisbane, Townsville and regional Queensland. We work with Brisbane barristers and run trials all over the state.

Our PI team is a close knit team. All are experienced, supportive, highly competent and fun and all are great teachers.

Townsville, North Queensland is a city that offers a relaxed lifestyle, affordable housing, great weather and excellent business opportunities. The commute time to ‘anywhere’ is under 20 minutes. It is an ideal city to raise a family, with many good schools, sporting opportunities and a university. Townsville has a great beach and Strand, nearby rainforests and islands - Magnetic Island, Hinchinbrook, The Whitsundays, and leisure activities that include, sailing, fishing, diving, hiking, bushwalking, etc.

Working in the PI Team

  • We act for plaintiffs on a variety of personal injury claims including motor vehicle, WorkCover, public liability, TPD claims, etc.
  • Our PI Team is highly competent. We enjoy challenging, interesting, technical work that has us attending conferences and court hearings regularly in Townsville, Cairns and Brisbane. We care for our clients and are proud to obtain great results for our clients.
  • OSheaDyer uses LEAP and our PI Team is guided by software that allows all team members to see at a glace, activity on all files in real time. The team communicates constantly and seamlessly, and meets weekly to strategise and allocate tasks. Everyone in the team has a role to play on each file, to ensure prudent progression of claims.
  • We never pressure clients to settle claims. We are ready to litigate in court if need be. We work with excellent barristers. We charge our clients reasonable fees. We are no win, no fee and don't charge uplift fees.
